General Description
DAY 1: UROS – AMANTANI
– 07:30 am: Pick up at your hotel in Puno and transfer to the port of Puno.
– 07:45 am – 09:15 am: Visit to the Floating Islands of the Uros. During this period, you will visit two of the Uros Floating Islands. You will learn about the culture and traditions of the inhabitants of the Uros, who build and live on these floating islands built with reeds. You will also have the opportunity to explore the islands and learn about their fishing and subsistence methods.
– 09:15 am – 01:00 pm: Navigation to Amantani Island. After visiting the Uros, you will take a boat that will take you to Amantani Island. During the trip, you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
– 01:00 pm – 02:00 pm: Lunch on Amantani Island. Once on Amantani Island, you will be welcomed by the local population and assigned to a host family. Lunch will be prepared with local and typical products from the region.
– 02:00 pm – 05:30 pm: Exploration of Amantani Island. After lunch, you will have time to explore Amantani Island, meet the local inhabitants and learn about their culture. You can choose to hike to the highest point on the island to enjoy panoramic views.
– 05:30 pm – 07:00 pm: Dinner with the host family. In the evening, local families will welcome you with folk music and serve you dinner.
– 07:00 pm: Optional cultural activities. You will have the option to participate in local cultural activities or simply relax at your host family's home.
DAY 2: TAQUILE
Here is the complete itinerary for your one-day visit to Taquile Island on Lake Titicaca:
– 07:00 am: Breakfast on Amantani Island.
– 08:30 am: Departure from Amantani Island to Taquile Island.
– 09:00 am: Arrival at Taquile Island. You will have approximately 4 hours to explore the island, enjoy the landscape and learn about its customs. During this time, you will be able to walk around the island, interact with local inhabitants and learn about their culture and traditions. Taquile is known for its weaving and textiles, so you will have the opportunity to see locals weaving by hand.
– 1:00 pm: Descent from Taquile Island.
– 16:00 pm: Arrival in the city of Puno. Your visit to Taquile Island will have concluded, and you will be transferred back to the city of Puno.
