During this fascinating excursion, deep in the rainforest of Puerto Maldonado, the capital and most populated city of Madre de Dios, we will discover a wide variety of animal and plant species. We will combine different types of adventure, such as zip-lining, canopy tours, kayaking, and hikes along trails through lush vegetation towards Lake Sandoval and the parrot clay licks. Each day will be new and breathtaking.
Itinerary
DAY 1 Puerto Maldonado / Botanical Walk / Monkey Island / Lodge
Airport or bus station pickup and transfer to the port (port captain). A 15-minute motorized boat ride down the Madre de Dios River to our lodge, “Amazon Lodge Tambopata,” where we’ll settle into our comfortable rooms, accompanied by our tour guide. We’ll then walk along the lodge’s trails, where our guide will explain the local flora and fauna. After lunch, we’ll take a 20-minute boat ride to Monkey Island, where we’ll have the opportunity to observe some of the monkey species that inhabit this island. Afterward, we’ll embark on a night hike with our flashlights, searching for insects and animals that can only be seen at night, and our guide will explain everything about them. We’ll return to the lodge, where we’ll spend the night in our comfortable accommodations.
DAY 2.- Tambopata Reserve “Lake Sandoval” / Caimaneo
We’ll prepare for our visit to Lake Sandoval. From our lodge, we’ll take a 10-minute boat ride to the port on the shores of Lake Sandoval, where we’ll enter the Tambopata Reserve, “Lake Sandoval,” on an approximately one-hour hike. Upon reaching the lake, we’ll board a canoe for a ride on this beautiful lake, home to numerous birds and animals. We’ll return to the lodge for lunch, and then, around 4 pm, we’ll head out to watch the sunset in search of sloths, capybaras, and caimans. We’ll have dinner and spend the night at our comfortable lodge.
Día 3 Collpa de loros - Canopy, Kayak / Lodge
Muy temprano en la mañana a las 5:00 a.m. visitaremos la collpa de loros, la cachuela, un viaje de aproximadamente 50 minutos, río arriba, ciudad de Puerto Maldonado, donde podrá ver muchas especies de loros reunidos en la pared del río Madre de Dios para lamer la arcilla en un espectáculo multicolor de vuelo y gritos, una experiencia que nunca olvidará. También será posible ver al perezoso. Después del desayuno, tomaremos nuestros kayaks desde nuestro albergue, a lo largo del río Madre de Dios y llegaremos al centro de actividades de aventura, caminaremos durante 5 minutos, y luego ascenderemos por una torre de 20 metros de altura, desde allí por los puentes colgantes, para ver la selva desde la copa de los árboles, como la ven los animales. Luego regresaremos al albergue. Almuerzo. Luego nos prepararemos para reempacar y regresar a la ciudad de Puerto Maldonado. Desde allí podemos llevarlo al aeropuerto, la estación de autobuses o el hotel.
