Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO - KM 104 - MACHU PICCHU
Our 2-day, 1-night Inca Trail tour to the citadel of Machu Picchu begins very early, around 3:30 a.m., with a transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the bus station located in the Wanchaq area. This station is exclusively for passengers of the tourist train that connects to the service to Machu Picchu. From there, you will board a bus that will take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where the train journey through the Sacred Valley to this wonder of the world begins.
We’ll take the train to Km 104. The Inca Trail is a moderate (2/5) hike, suitable for people from 12 years old to adults in reasonably good physical condition. It’s ideal for adventurous visitors who want to take on the challenge of hiking this route without having to do the classic 4-day trek. Our final destination: Machu Picchu, declared one of the seven wonders of the world.
We will get off the train at kilometer 104 to begin our hike. We will cross the bridge to reach checkpoint 5. The first archaeological site we will visit is Chachabamba. Along the way, we will pass the impressive Phuyuwachi waterfall, a natural formation that cascades down from the heights of Phuyupatamarka. Here we can observe a variety of native flora and birds of the region.
After approximately 4 hours of hiking, we arrive at Wiñayhuayna, an impressive archaeological site known for its Inca terraces. We will continue our hike to Intipunku (the Sun Gate), from where we will have a panoramic view of Machu Picchu.
Afterwards, we’ll descend to the citadel for the classic photo and to admire this amazing world-renowned tourist attraction. It’s important to note that entry to Machu Picchu via the Inca Trail is exclusively through Circuit 1 (Panoramic). We manage your entry to the citadel through this circuit, always subject to official ticket availability. Our team will be available to assist you before and during the tour, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience.
After completing the Inca Trail, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town), where we will go to the hotel to settle in and spend the night.
Noche de hotel en Aguas Calientes.
DAY 2: VISITA LA "CIUDAD PERDIDA DE LOS INCAS"
Early in the morning, we will have breakfast at the hotel and then board the bus that will take us to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Machu Picchu on a 25-minute journey.
We will begin the guided tour at one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World. Its design includes areas such as agricultural terraces, supported by stone retaining walls, and an advanced hydraulic system composed of canals and aqueducts.
The citadel of Machu Picchu is part of a larger complex that covers more than 35,000 hectares and receives over 1.5 million visitors annually. In the afternoon, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will pick you up and take you to your hotel in Cusco.
