Itinerary
DAY 1: Cusco – Abra Málaga – Biking – Santa María
📍 Departure from Cusco towards Abra Málaga
We begin our journey towards the Andes Mountains until we reach Abra Málaga (4,316 m), a spectacular viewpoint surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
📍 Downhill cycling through the high jungle
We will begin a downhill bike adventure for approximately 3 hours, traversing jungle landscapes, small rivers, and stretches full of vegetation.
📍 Arrival at Huamanmarka and continuation towards Santa María
After finishing the biking, we continued by transport to the village of Santa María.
📍 Optional: Rafting on the Vilcanota River
Optional activity for those who wish to add adrenaline to the trip (depending on the season).
📍 Dinner and overnight stay in Santa María
DAY 2: Santa María – Caminos Incas – Santa Teresa
📍 Start of the jungle trek
We will begin the hike along trails full of biodiversity, coffee plantations, cocoa and tropical fruits.
📍 Section along ancient Inca roads
We will travel along an original section of the Qhapaq Ñan, with breathtaking views of the valley and mountains.
📍 Lunch in the Kellomayo area
A break surrounded by nature and warm weather.
📍 Arrival in Santa Teresa
In the afternoon we continued towards Santa Teresa, a quiet town perfect for relaxing.
📍 Cocalmayo Hot Springs (optional)
You can enjoy the best thermal waters on the route, ideal for relaxing your muscles.
📍 Dinner and overnight stay in Santa Teresa
DAY 3: Santa Teresa – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes
📍 Optional: Zipline in Santa Teresa
Optional activity with canopy lines, suspension bridges and lots of adrenaline for the most adventurous.
📍 Hike to Hydroelectric Plant
We will begin a gentle walk through the low jungle, enjoying the warm weather and the mountains that surround the path.
📍 Lunch at the Hydroelectric Plant
Short break before the last stretch of the day.
📍 Walk along the railway to Aguas Calientes
A scenic route through mountains and jungle, bordering the Urubamba River until reaching the base village of Machu Picchu.
📍 Dinner and overnight stay in Aguas Calientes
DAY 4: Machu Picchu – Hidroeléctrica – Cusco
📍 Early ascent to Machu Picchu
Take the bus (optional) or walk up to enter the Inca Citadel early.
📍 Guided tour of Machu Picchu
Guided tour of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours through the most important sectors: temples, terraces, squares, towers and main viewpoints.
📍 Free time to explore the citadel
You can continue exploring on your own or visit optional points of interest such as the Inca Bridge or Inti Punku.
📍 Return to Aguas Calientes and lunch on your own
Descent to the village to rest before the final hike.
📍 Hike back to the hydroelectric plant
Final stretch alongside the railway line until reaching the meeting point.
📍 Return to Cusco by tourist transport
I return via the same route, arriving in Cusco approximately at night.
